Rat Ban

Rat Ban came about as a result of often having to deal with internal rat issues where the rat’s primary entry point was found to be via a broken/missing air brick or simply just a hole in a wall.

Carrying out proofing works alone more often than not resulted in rats being trapped within the home.

My son and I initially put together a contraption (as there was nothing on the market available that would be of any use) that incorporated a drain valve which was successful but was too bulky for most installations as well as being an eyesore, certainly not a very professional look, it was hard to sell as an addition to the client as a professional device.

Initially we had a prototype made from stainless steel, which wasn’t particularly economical to manufacture, it worked really well though but improvement was necessary so back to the drawing board it went, resulting in the end product as shown in photos.

NB. This device is best used as close to ground level as possible. If installation is greater 3” above exterior ground level a platform (bricks, timber, up-turned bucket etc.) will be required to aid the rat’s exit.
